W H Painter in Kingstanding organised a heart-warming fundraising day, to raise money for the children of a local woman who was tragically killed in a car accident.
The community was shocked by the crash just before Christmas in Lee Bank Middleway, Birmingham.
Funeral Arranger Maria Bennett wanted to bring the community together to provide the woman’s family with funds to support her two young children.
The response was incredible, with an overwhelming number of raffle prizes being donated to the branch, which included a pamper day, gift vouchers, a luxury hamper, jewellery, wine, flowers, and candles.
People continued to donate prizes during the charity day, which led to a second raffle being held the following week.
Local businesses donated their professions and provided hand massages, cakes and sweet treats for those who attended the day.
Maria said: “The day was absolutely incredible. The whole community really has come together after the tragedy and I am truly grateful for everyone’s generous donations.
“We managed to raise an incredible total of £250 which will go straight to her children. I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful community so thank you!
