Staff from W F Groombridge in Tonbridge went ‘Purple 4 Porchlight’ to mark World Homelessness Day by organising a ‘fun’-draising day for children.
The homeless charity, Porchlight, works across Kent and the Southeast to help vulnerable and isolated people get support with their mental health, housing, education and employment.
Families who attended the fundraising day enjoyed a raffle with some great prizes, including three types of hamper, original artwork donated by a talented local artist, jewellery, and plenty of other goodies as well as face-painting, balloon modelling, a professional magician and tea and cakes.
Funeral Arranger/Administrator Viv Hogben said: “The day was great fun, we all dressed in purple and managed to raise £90 for the charity so a big thank you to everyone who came along and donated.
“We wanted to support Porchlight as the charity does a great job to support young homeless people of all ages; the help they provide comes in so many forms and aims to keep these young people safe and help them into an eventual home of their own.
“We hope to continue to support Porchlight in the future and will be looking at other ways to be able to do this.”
