A tempting spread of sweet treats helped the team from Torbay and District Funeral Service to raise nearly £200 for cancer charity Macmillan.
The fundraising trio of Sarah Lockton, Amanda James and Sandra Murphy joined thousands of businesses across the UK who were taking part in Macmillan’s biggest coffee morning to raise money for the charity.
Macmillan provides individuals and families who have been affected by cancer with a constant source of free advice and support.
The Torbay and District team dedicated the branch’s window space to the charity and created an impressive display ahead of the coffee morning.
On 29 September, the team put on a huge choice of over 15 types of cake to enjoy for Torquay locals, ministers and celebrants who popped into the branch, raising £182.76 for Macmillan.
Funeral Director, Sarah Lockton, said: “As many of the people we meet experience cancer in some way, we really wanted to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan, as the work they do is so important.
“A huge thanks to everyone who donated. The morning was brilliant and we couldn’t believe that we had no cake left over! We hope to see you all at the next one.”
