Funeral Director Nicky Beach and Funeral Arranger Lisa Wickes-Eales have once again called upon the kind-hearted people of Eastleigh to get their knitting needles out and knit blankets to donate to Countess Mountbatten Hospice.
The Hospice serves a community in excess of 720,000 with a catchment of 460 square miles. Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity raises approximately £1 million each year for Countess Mountbatten House to achieve this. Support from local businesses and the community is essential to ensure the charity can continue to enhance the quality of the lives of patients and their families.
The appeal coincided with Hospice care week which ran from 9-15th October 2017 and before they knew it the ladies were inundated with donations of not only blankets but knitted hats, gloves, socks, scarves and hand warmers.
Lisa said: “On 28th November myself and Nicky went to meet the nurses at Countess Mountbatten to donate all of the lovely items and they were thrilled. These will be used in their day care units and by the volunteers that help with the garden as well as their patients and families.
Nicky added: “We must say thank you to the local community for supporting this appeal as none of this would be possible without your support”.
This appeal is on-going and if anyone would like to contribute please contact Lisa or Nicky at the Eastleigh branch on 023 8061 2435 or call in to 64 Market Street, Eastleigh S050 5RD.
