Eastleigh funeral homes earn Gold award

Two Eastleigh funeral businesses have received top customer satisfaction marks following visits from mystery shoppers.

A H Rogers & Sons Funeral Directors received a perfect score and was named the overall winner in the Service Provider category of the Eastleigh BID Customer Experience Awards.

Paul Capper Funeral Directors scooped a Gold award with a 99 per cent satisfaction rate.

The awards are organised by the town’s Business Improvement District – and saw people posing as customers go out and rate their experience at more than 75 outlets.

The awards were given out at a glitzy ceremony held in September which has been dubbed the Eastleigh Oscars.

Funeral Arranger Helen Craddock spoke to the mystery shopper who posed as someone enquiring about purchasing a Choice funeral plan, which helped secure the top prize for A H Rogers & Sons Funeral Directors, which is  based in Market Street, Eastleigh.

She said: “This is the third year we’ve entered and this time around we had absolutely no idea when we were being judged.

“I try to bring the same high level of customer service to everyone I speak to.

“I have a little secret technique where I try and get everyone I come into contact with to finish our conversation with a smile on their face.

“If they’ve not suffered a bereavement then you’ve made their day a little bit better and if they have, hopefully I have showed there’s something positive for them in the future.

“It’s a brilliant award for the business – I just happened to be the person who spoke to the judge this time – and we are a close-knit team who all do our bit.”

A H Rogers & Sons Funeral Directors and Paul Capper Funeral Directors, based in Leigh Road, Eastleigh, are both part of the Funeral Partners family of high-quality funeral businesses.

Andrew Lavin, Funeral Partners Area Development Manager for Hampshire, said: “It’s fantastic that not one but two of our funeral homes have won these coveted awards.

“We pride ourselves on the level of care we offer families and this is testament to the work our teams do every day.”
