A Yeatman & Sons pop the kettle for Macmillan

A Yeatman & Sons Funeral Directors became the heart of Shirley’s community after the branch joined in with the world’s biggest coffee morning.
Funeral Arranger Darren Turk and other local businesses decided to join forces and hold the coffee morning at the A Yeatman branch as people can only eat so much cake!
As well copious amounts of tea and cake, Darren ran a lucky dip with prizes including half price photo shoot vouchers, discount haircut vouchers and Choice funeral plan vouchers, and he also held a raffle with 17 prizes being donated from local businesses. These included a range of services from a haircut and massage to ironing, dry cleaning and taxi vouchers, plus Champagne, chutney and jam, a free breakfast and a hamper.
The coffee morning started at 10am and didn’t finish until 3:30pm with some last minute visitors running in to take part in the raffle.
Darren said: “The day was a great success with cakes provided by the Co-op supermarket and some very lovely fairy cakes made by my children Amy and Ethan.
“I also had the help of Robyn who works in Picturepartnership Photography as two days before I contracted a bug and was unwell, she was an absolute blessing.
“All in all it was fantastic day (made all the better by my tea and coffee making skills), we managed to raise a grand total of £240.72 for Macmillan.
“Myself and all the other businesses were understandably chuffed to bits, so a huge thank you to everyone who donated and we hope you will join us again next year.”
